St.
Mary's Catholic Primary School in
Broadway has offered an excellent education for
generations.

In
2006, it realised a
need to radically redesign its ICT environment,
such that it was well positioned for the next decade.
The school turned the project over to the Permutation Company,
which
executed four primary activities:
- Assess and fulfil the school's
immediate requirements
- Redeploy its existing technology
to
maximise that investment, while removing equipment that had
outlived its usefulness, entirely
- Design and implement an
infrastructure-based solution that scales for future requirements
- Allocate time and resource to
retraining staff on technology best practice in their everyday teaching
The project was a
success. While previous reviews noted
a need for ICT investment, the current level of ICT at St. Mary's, as assessed by OFSTED, is second to none.

When the
pioneering Broadway
Centre for Advanced Dentistry unveiled Britain's
first oral Computed
Tomography (CT) scanner, it turned to the Permutation Company
for all its display, storage and backup systems.
A marriage of advanced medical technology and cutting edge robotics, the
CT scanner can capture more detail in one pass than a whole series of
traditional x-rays... using a fraction of the radiation.

Permutation constructed and maintains a networked environment, both
wired and wireless, that allows multiple workstations to analyse
clients' images. All customer data is securely stored on a
redundant array which backs encrypted copies of itself up to an offsite
location.
Overall, the solution is elegant and robust, while being within the
price range of most small to medium sized businesses. |

Larger Projects

When
a top-four global communications company decided to market its network
outsourcing capability in Europe, Permutation director Jim Schmitz
designed and installed a number of visitors' centres and demonstration
capabilities.
The
work was followed by sales training programmes and active promotion of
the service in several large trade events, including Telecom '99 in
Geneva. |
