The Rampart™ "No Hands Backup"
is a unique on-site / off-site service that ensures your most critical
files are safely and securely stored with total ease and automation.
|
|
Your data is kept private
through a complicated encryption mechanism, while at the same time the
Permutation Company monitors its movement to ensure that backups are
successful.
While each business situation is different, the following is a current Permutation client and illustrates some of the methods it uses to support its customers. |
First, a full "image" backup was created for each office machine.
In the event a full hard drive failure, the machine could be quickly
restored using a replacement hard drive without having to reload any
software. These images were transfered to DVD disk and stored at
the client's home.
Second, the key file areas for backup were identified on each PC. Automatic daily backups were put into place |
 |
to replicate this information
on-site. The backups were un-encrypted, such that, in the event of
failure, the data would be available instantly.
Third, automated weekly backups were established to replicate those same vital files to a Fortress™ "No Hands Manager" located
at the client's home. Prior to transmission, all of the files are
encrypted to protect them from prying eyes.
Clients often deploy Fortress™ servers to support Rampart™ "No Hands Backup" services.
The success of daily and weekly backups, as well as the ongoing state
of hard drives in the office machines, is monitored by the Permutation Company. That means many potential problems can be detected before being allowed to affect the client.
As a further measure of redundancy, the main PC in the office has been
equipped with multiple redundant hard drives. Everything gets
written and read from both at the same time. If one were to fail, the
other would keep working with zero impact to the client's business.
